On 8 December 2008, CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid for Section 5 of Tianjin Road project. The contract value amounted to RMB380 million with construction period of 17 months, and is expected to be completed on 20 May 2010.
This section is 4.9km long with dual four-lane. It is mainly composed of road and bridge construction. As the only express passageway, Tianjin Road will connect Binhai New Area, Tianjin central city, and Tianjin districts.
